Jiri drinking water and sanitation program: A part of community benefits and economic diversification program in Nepal

In order to address the need of clean drinking water in Khawa village under ward no. 1 of Jiri VDC in Dolakha district, sanitation in school established with the initiation and facilitation of local NGO and introduction of ECOSAN in the village, ANSAB and HBTL in collaboration with community groups have planned for the construction of clean drinking water project and promote the sanitation program. This village was selected on the basis of need assessment of construction of drinking water and also for the benefit of people involved in Lokta/ Argeli bark collection and papermaking. A total number of 135 households are expected to directly benefit from the proposed drinking water project.
